Dr. Kjeldsen (pronounced Kelson) has been serving Petaluma as a General Dentist since 1996, and has established a reputation as being professional, gentle and kind with high integrity, listening and having a genuine concern for his patients. He strives to make every visit a great experience.
Dr. Kjeldsen knew that he wanted to become a dentist when he was a young child. After studying biology at UC Davis and Sonoma State, he continued his education at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, where he became a Doctor of Dental Surgery. After graduating in 1995, he achieved his goal of starting a dental practice in Sonoma County, where he was raised. Through his strong work ethic and kind and caring personality, he has built up a thriving practice.
In 2010 Dr. Kjeldsen moved his office to a more central location in Petaluma, providing his patients with a brand new office and leading edge dental equipment. This enables him to use all of the newest and best techniques in order to provide the highest quality of dentistry to his patients. Dr. Kjeldsen frequently attends continuing education courses on all aspects of dentistry and enjoys learning about and mastering the latest dental techniques. Dr. Kjeldsen has a genuine concern for his patients and their dental health, makes it his goal to provide an excellent dental experience.
Dr. Kjeldsen lives in West Petaluma with his wife, Whitney, and their three sons. Dr. Kjeldsen loves spending time with his family and in his spare time, enjoys biking, hiking, playing basketball, reading, good food and traveling.

Trale Broudy, RDH:
Trale graduated from Santa Rosa Junior College’s Dental Hygiene Program in 2010 and has been working for Dr. Kjeldsen since. His primary concern is always for the patient’s health and he works hard to make sure that each patient receives optimal care. Trale is also an adjunct faculty instructor in the SRJC’s dental programs and a board member of the Redwood Dental Hygienists’ Society. As a former professional baker, Trale founded the Village Bakery in Sebastopol and now enjoys baking as a hobby. He lives in Sebastopol with his wife, two daughters and dog.
Lexi Hanson, Office Manager :
Lexi has been part of Dr. Kjeldsen’s staff since early 2014 after returning to California from Washington, D.C., where her interest in politics led her to work in the government sector. As the Office Manager, she welcomes patients with a smile and helps make the office a place where patients feel comfortable, at ease, and cared for at each appointment. Born and raised in Northern California, she enjoys hiking, swimming, horseback riding, and spending time with family and friends.
Erica Park, Office Assistant :
Erica joined Dr. Kjeldsen’s staff in October 2016. She has a background in youth ministry and caregiving. She is currently attending Sonoma State University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She hopes to later attend graduate school in order to be a counselor. Outside of work she enjoys knitting, reading, hiking, continuing to serve in youth ministry, and spending time with family and friends.
Ysabella Esponda, Dental Assistant :
Ysabella became a member Dr. Kjeldsen’s staff in November 2016. For the past four years, she has been working in the customer service industry. As the Dental Assistant, she enjoys listening to our patients and helping them feel comfortable and cared for. She assists Dr. Kjeldsen with all procedures and makes sure everything runs smoothly in the back office. When she’s not working, she enjoys volunteering as a high school counselor and spending time with family.
